Treads and risers, newels, balustrades and handrail. The one piece of joinery every guest puts a hand on, so it has to feel as good as it looks.
The scope
New stair construction and stair rebuilds, tread and riser replacement, newel posts, balusters and continuous handrail, eased and sanded until the hand approves.
The standard
A stair is carpentry under load, and it is judged twice: by the eye at the landing and by the hand on the rail. Both judges are satisfied before we call it done.
How it is quoted
Site visit, written scope, materials by name and grade. Where code applies, the stair meets it without argument.
